Connected Gas Filling in 2026: Is Your Control System Cyber-Ready?

As gas-filling plants become increasingly connected, cybersecurity is becoming as important as process safety, reliability and traceability.

The EU Cyber Resilience Act introduces mandatory cybersecurity requirements for products with digital elements. These include secure-by-design development, cybersecurity risk assessments, vulnerability management, security updates and support throughout the product lifecycle.

The first reporting obligations will apply from 11 September 2026, followed by the main requirements from 11 December 2027.

For modern gas-filling plants, this is highly relevant. Control systems manage critical functions such as:

• Filling recipes and process parameters
• User access and permissions
• Production and filling records
• Interfaces with other plant systems
• Remote access and technical support

At IGPH, our AiFill control system is developed and maintained by our own in-house software and controls engineering team.

This allows us to retain direct responsibility for the system architecture, software development, access management, updates and long-term support.

Is your filling control system ready for the new cybersecurity requirements?
